Grandmaster Troy Trudeau

Troy Trudeau began his martial arts training at the age of 10 years old and at the age of 13, he received his 1st Degree Black Belt in Wa Do Ryu Karate. Training in Wa Do Ryu continued for 5 more years until he received his 2nd Degree Black Belt. At this time GM Trudeau was competing in open and closed tournament circuits and he had won several Grand Championships in Forms, Fighting, and Weapons. At one tournament, he was approached by another young Martial Artist by the name of Robert Blackstone. Robert was so impressed with GM Troy's abilities that he invited him to a Tae Kwon Do class in GM Kang Rhee's gym, located in Memphis, TN. That led to another important segment of GM Troy's martial art history.

In 1999, GM Trudeau received his 7th Degree Black Belt and was named Chiefmaster of Tae Sool Won, from both the World Kido Federation & the Korea Kido Association (WKF/KKA). In 1999 GM Trudeau befriended GM Rudy Timmerman, who had also been a part of WKSA, and they began a long-lasting business relationship. GM Timmerman trained him in Kuk Sool Hapkido and in 2005 GM Trudeau was one of the first ever to go through GM Timmerman's Band of Brothers LDT Training classes which exemplified "old school" traditional hardcore training. In December of 2012, GM Trudeau tested and promoted to 7th Degree Black Belt in Tae Sool HapKiDo. He was promoted to 8th Degree Black Belt in TKD and HKD by GM Kang H. Rhee, and he was officially recognized as Founder and President of the World Tae Sool Won Association by the United States Martial Arts Association as an 8th Degree in Tae Sool Hapkido. GM Trudeau has made television appearances on ESPN and Oak Ridge Today, and has been featured in many International magazines including cover spreads of TaeKwonDo Times Magazine in July 2011 and November 2014, as well as a cover feature on Totally TKD Magazine in February of 2013.
